Overview

Computer science is the theory and practice of representation, processing, and use of information. Almost every aspect of everyday life has been transformed by information technologies enabled by this field.

The LAU Computer Science program dates back to 1976, and the university was the first to offer a bachelor’s degree in the subject in Lebanon.   The B.S. in Computer Science Program at the Lebanese American University is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET, www.abet.org.

Sophisticated computing and networking facilities are available to support the academic and research activities of the department, with continuous updates and expansions.
