Minor in Migration Studies
Mission
The Minor in Migration Studies prepares students for careers in a number of areas requiring an understanding of current migrations and refugee issues. The minor also prepares interested students for further graduate study.
Mission
The mission of the minor in Migration studies is to prepare the students to work for a variety of employers, including but not limited to government and non-governmental organization dealing with migrants and refugees. It also prepares them to pursue a graduate education in the field of migration.
Program Educational Objectives
The Minor in Migration Studies aims to:
- Prepare the students for MA programs in migration studies.
- Develop graduates who can pursue a career in governmental and non-governmental organizations focusing on migration issues.
Student Outcomes
Upon completion of the Minor in Migration Studies, students will:
- Demonstrate knowledge of the main theories and concepts in migration studies.
- Analyze the various problems associated with people’s mobility.
- Understand how migration studies relates to other fields such as development, politics, gender, etc.
