FND236 Studio II Formal Tectonics
[3–6, 6 cr.]
This studio will continue to explore the translation of ideas into forms, through a process of abstraction that eventually leads to the elaboration of a small-scale architectural project. The studio will introduce basic architectural concepts, exploring the relationship between spatial constructs and human scale, through critical investigations of a single-function project that demonstrates innovative and thematic spatial explorations. The studio will emphasize the notion of ‘process’ in design, by initiating students to think through a series of 3D models and hand-drafted drawings, as a means to translate ideas into forms.
Prerequisites: FND231 Studio I-A and FND232 Studio I-B
