FIN405 Investment Analysis

This course is an introduction to the field of investments. It focuses on the examination and valuation of the various investment vehicles and strategies. Investment Analysis helps understand the investment process, analyze investments, construct efficient portfolios, evaluate financial securities, and assess investment performance. Topics covered will include stock and bond market indices, buying on margin, short selling, risk and return, efficient diversification, CAPM and other asset pricing models, efficient market hypothesis, macroeconomic and industry analysis, and derivatives.
Prerequisites: FIN301/FIN301H Managerial Finance and FIN302 Financial Institutions and Markets
