CIE540 Advanced Geotechnical Engineering

Advanced topics in geotechnical engineering including: Load and Resistance Factor Design (LRFD); design of deep foundations for axial and lateral loading; two-dimensional limiting equilibrium methods of slope stability analysis; design of shoring systems such as diaphragm walls, sheet-pile walls, anchored walls, and braced excavations. 

Pre-requisite: CIE446 Foundation Engineering.
