TRA499P Capstone

The capstone project aims to bridge theory and practice in the field of translation. It prepares students to the world of work thanks to its practical and theoretical applications that help students sharpen their linguistic skills and refine their theoretical knowledge. Students will mainly work together in small groups to choose a topic, compile a bilingual corpus in a particular specialized field, such as audiovisual translation, literary translation, business translation, legal translation, etc., and analyze it either quantitatively and/or qualitatively. They might also choose to translate a book or part of a book. All this will be done under the guidance of a supervisor.  

Prerequisite: Senior Standing
