PTE405 AI in Petroleum Engineering

This course provides a comprehensive introduction to machine learning (ML) and data-driven methods, with an introduction to neural networks and artificial intelligence (AI), in the context of chemical and petroleum engineering. Students learn how these computational tools support process modeling, optimization, control, safety, materials discovery, and sustainability. The course develops problem-solving skills, programming proficiency, and data analysis capabilities, enabling students to apply ML-driven solutions to real-world challenges in chemical and petroleum engineering.
Pre-requisites: PTE212 Programming for Petroleum Engineering, GNE 331 Probability and Statistics, and Fourth year standing in Chemical Engineering
Co-requisite: PTE406 AI in Petroleum Engineering – Lab.
