PSY417 Forensic Psychology
[3–0, 3 cr.]
This course will explore the interface of psychology and the law. It introduces students to how psychological theories, practice, and recent research are applied to the investigative techniques used in profiling. Specific topics covered include police psychology, eyewitness and expert testimony, jury selection, psychopathy, profiling, insanity defense, and custody evaluations. Students will also discuss ethical considerations and the challenges of applying psychological principles in legal settings in the Lebanon.
