PSY413 Cultural Psychology

[3–0, 3 cr.]

The course will give students an introduction to the scientific, theoretical and applied basis of cultural psychology. Students will develop an understanding of universal and culturally shaped psychological processes and how they shape morality, religious thought, emotions, psychological health, conformity and other psychological processes. Through case studies and interviews with scholars, students will be encouraged to critically examine cultural assumptions within psychological science and their implications for research and practice.

Pre-requisite: PSY201 Introduction to Psychology
