PSY406 Psycho-oncology

Psycho-oncology focuses on the central concepts related to caring for cancer patients and their families at all stages of their illness (diagnosis, treatment, survivorship, end-of-life, death and bereavement). Students will explore the psychological, social and spiritual dimensions of cancer with exposure to theories and models commonly used in psycho-oncology. Psychosocial assessment and interventions in cancer will be covered to assist patients (adults, children and teenagers), family and couples in the cancer journey, critically assessing a patient-centered approach to patient care.
