PSY317 Advanced Cognitive and Behavioral Neurosciences

[3–0, 3 cr.]

Building on foundational knowledge of neuroscience and psychology, this advanced course will guide students to examine topics such as perception, attention, learning and memory, decision-making, emotion, social cognition, and executive functions from a neurobiological perspective. The course will cover current research methodologies in cognitive and behavioral neuroscience, including brain imaging and electrophysiological techniques using real-life lab manipulations. Students will critically engage with primary literature and consider the ethical and applied implications of advances in brain science.
