PSY314 Mindfulness
[3–0, 3 cr.]
This course is designed to provide an introduction to the field of Mindfulness therapy. History, different mindfulness-based programs, application and research will be discussed. The core of the course will be experiential where students will have both conceptual understanding and experiential learning, with regular in-class mindfulness exercises designed to cultivate awareness, emotional regulation, and self-reflection. The course encourages critical engagement with the applications and limitations of mindfulness practices across clinical, educational, and everyday settings.
Pre-requisite: PSY201 Introduction to Psychology
