PHA650P Primary Health Care Centers

This one-month elective Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) provides Pharm.D. students with experiential training within Primary Health Care Centers (PHCCs) operating within the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) National Primary Health Care (PHC) Network. Students practice within both the pharmacy and ambulatory care clinic as members of the interprofessional healthcare team, delivering patient-centered care to vulnerable and underserved populations. PHC Services include family medicine and general consultations, pediatric services, reproductive and maternal health services, non-communicable disease (NCD) management, mental health services, immunization services aligned with the national Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI), basic laboratory and diagnostic services, and pharmaceutical services.  This rotation emphasizes the Pharmacist Patient Care Process (PPCP)within resource variable health care settings through reduced-cost consultations, free chronic medications, and vaccines in alignment with Universal Health Coverage (UHC) goals and Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG 3).
