PHA333 Pharmacy Management

This course introduces students to the principles and applications of management within pharmacy practice, with emphasis on both community and institutional (hospital) settings. The course examines core managerial functions, including leadership, operations management, financial management, and human resources and service management as they relate to pharmacy operations. Students will develop the ability to apply management concepts to enhance patient care outcomes, improve workflow efficiency, mitigate managerial and operational risks, and strengthen organizational structure and performance. Key topics include business and strategic planning, medication-use systems, inventory and supply chain management, quality assurance and performance improvement, and entrepreneurship in pharmacy practice.
