NUT641 Sports Nutrition

[3–0, 3 cr.]

This course examines the role of nutrition in improving health-related and sports-related fitness and athletic performance. It will allow the students to use peer-reviewed journals in order to describe and understand major topics related to exercise physiology and metabolism, basic nutritional requirements of athletes, including both macronutrients and micronutrients, nutritional problems that athletes might face, and the evidence-based role of supplements in the performance and well-being of athletes.
