IBS311 Managing the Multinational Corporation

The course covers the strategies and tactics that international managers use to design, operate, control and implement business activities in the modern world, by emphasizing various functions of international business, including distribution and logistics, production, global sourcing, export strategies and sales, strategic alliances, and international human resources management. The course then covers the coordination of complementary tasks among a diverse number of international units, be they branches, subsidiaries, sales offices, or shipping points.
Prerequisites: MGT201 Introduction to Management and MKT201 Introduction to Marketing.
IBS399 Internship / Practicum
[1 cr.]
Students may earn one credit by working for a period of four weeks (minimum 120 hours) at a position relevant to their major. The internship must be approved by the course instructor. Students are also encouraged to reflect on civic engagement or the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) within their internship experience. (This course is Pass/Fail)Pre-requisites: BUS299, junior and good academic standing.
IBS420 Innovation-Driven Strategy in Global Contexts

This course explores how organizations use innovation to build and sustain competitive advantage in international markets. Students examine strategic frameworks, global technology trends, and real-world cases of companies responding to disruption, new business models, and shifting global conditions. The course connects corporate strategy with emerging innovation practices and provides a foundation for future study in entrepreneurship and venture creation.IBS488 Special Topics in International Business

This course covers a broad range of topics in international business, including growth through international expansion, multinationals, and designing and managing global operations. The course could be taken more than once for credit when topics differ.
