FEM333 Entrepreneurial Finance and Venture Valuation

This course introduces the financial foundations of launching and scaling early-stage ventures. Students learn how entrepreneurs make key financial decisions under uncertainty, from budgeting and cash runway planning to capital structure choices. The course covers funding strategies across the venture lifecycle and examines investor perspectives, including angel investors and venture capital firms. Students also practice venture valuation methods suited to startups—where data is limited and risk is high—using real cases, term sheets, and pitch-style financial narratives.
