BIO435 Functional Genomics

This is a combined course with the bioinformatics program. This course introduces students to functional genomics concepts and computational approaches for understanding gene function. Designed for students with mixed backgrounds, the course emphasizes hands-on learning through Google Colab notebooks with R programming. Students will develop foundational computational skills while exploring key topics in gene structure, regulation, expression analysis, and cancer genomics. The course prioritizes practical database navigation, data interpretation, and biological reasoning through case studies. This course is equivalent to BIF425.
