The course emphasizes microbial systems that support waste management, bioremediation, bioenergy, and climate mitigation. Integrating microbial ecology, biotechnology, and global health perspectives, it encourages critical evaluation of both the potential and limitations of microbial innovation within the context of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
