Program Overview
If you are a current Lebanese American University (LAU) student, you can take classes with us. During the academic year, September to June, participation in intensive classes is strictly limited to matriculated LAU students to align their English language proficiency to university standards.
Our Intensive English Program emphasizes doing rather than knowing, so that students enhance their speaking, listening, reading, and writing in ways that are immediately useful to university life and real world setting.
Mission
Our mission in the Intensive English Program is to prepare students for university courses by educating them in the fundamentals of the English language through various modules in listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.
Objectives
During the semester in the intensive program, our students analyze different texts for main ideas, take notes from listening to lectures, write well-organized texts, engage in speaking exercises and give oral presentations.
Outcomes
When our students finish their semester in the intensive program, they will be able to follow their regular university courses equipped with the necessary skills from writing well organized texts, to properly communicating with their peers and professors in the target language. Also, our students will be well integrated in their regular university programs because they will able to take proper notes, and read and analyze their lectures, textbooks or any material.
