WRK208H Comm-U-nicate

[0–0, 0 cr.]

The wisest among us have understood that there is no “one size fits all”, especially when it comes to communication. Think of all those times you had something great to say in class, but then something happen and it just faded away. Or about that time you were talking to your friend (or parent) and they just “didn’t get it”. Or better yet, about that person with the weird accent that seems to be uttering alien words all the time…

Today, more than ever before, we communicate with different types of people all of whom perceive the world in their own way and we often take this for granted. We expected them to understand us, but yet for some reason, we often refrain from attempting to understand them.

Through “Comm-u-nicate”, you will be able to:

  1. Explain why miscommunication happens using a renowned model, and what you can do to communicate better with others.
  2. Identify the various differences between Hearing and Listening, and explain how the latter is correlated to enhanced communication.
  3. Practice using a questioning technique that helps conversations flow better.
