PTE515 Thermal Recovery
[3–0, 3 cr.]
Thermal recovery processes are mainly steam-based and can be divided into two main categories: displacement or drive processes and stimulation processes. Will cover steam displacement processes (steam-flooding, steam-assisted gravity drainage), cyclic steam stimulation, in situ combustion, and briefly mention hot water flooding. It will also cover properties of fluid and rock, wellbore heat losses, and a selection of thermal processes.
Prerequisite: Fifth-year standing and consent of instructor.
