INE599D Intro to System Dynamics

[3–0, 3 cr.]

This course introduces you to system dynamics modeling for the analysis of policy and strategy in an industrial context.  System dynamics allows us to abstract complex situations down to a level where we can visualize the long-term side effects of decisions, and systematically explore new strategies and policies that increase performance and reduce undesirable side effects.  We use role playing games, simulation models and case studies to develop sound principles of policy design for successful management of complex strategies.

Prerequisites: Sophomore Standing.
