PTE471 The Petroleum Engineering Profession

[2–0, 2 cr.]

Introduction to the history and heritage of petroleum engineering; specialized sub disciplines; professionalism and professional registration and societies; continuing education; impact of historical and contemporary issues on the identification, formulation, and solution of engineering problems , impact of engineering solutions on the economy, environment, political landscape, and society. The course involves teamwork researching topics related to the impact of contemporary engineering solutions.

Pre-requisite: Fourth-year standing.
