Bachelor of Arts in Television and Film

Mission

The Bachelor of Arts in Television and Film is a liberal arts-based program designed to cultivate creative, technically proficient, and ethically grounded media professionals. Rooted in the cultural context of the Arab region, the program equips students with the artistic vision, production expertise, and critical thinking skills needed to excel in both traditional and digital media landscapes.

Graduates emerge as versatile storytellers, capable of writing, directing, producing, and editing content across diverse platforms. Beyond technical mastery, the program fosters a commitment to lifelong learning, scholarly inquiry, and adaptive leadership—preparing graduates to navigate, innovate, and lead in a rapidly evolving global media industry.

Program Educational Objectives

Graduates shall be able to:

  1. Exhibit an appreciation of the creative, artistic, and theoretical aspects of television and film, and an understanding of the cultural, economic, and political contexts that affect media production processes in the Arab region and globally.
  2. Exhibit technical and skill-based competence with a wide range of convergent communication technologies of the 21st century
  3. Demonstrate the required research and analytical skills that enable them to pursue future scholarly work and graduate studies
  4. Create innovative, ethical, and civically engaged content to communicate with diverse audiences in an increasingly multicultural and global environment.

Student Outcomes

At the completion of the program, students will be able to:

  1. Apply effective communication, collaboration and team-building methods
  2. Analyze and discuss key concepts and theories in television and film
  3. Comprehend the historical, formal, and artistic development of international motion picture production and Arab film and television
  4. Demonstrate an understanding of the functions and roles of a production environment
  5. Adapt to trends and technological developments in the field
  6. Produce artistic and original work that reflects a variety of voices, ideas, and traditions through team work
  7. Apply legal and ethical international standards in producing content.
