Introduction to the AISC-LRFD design philosophy; discussion of the behavior, analysis and design of steel structures; design of tension members, simple bolted connections, introduction to welded connections, compression members, laterally supported beams, beams under torsion, and lateral torsional loading, members under combined compression and bending loads.

Prerequisites: CIE302 Structural Analysis , CIE303 Structural Analysis – Soft, CIE304 Stress Analysis, and CIE305 Stress Analysis - Lab
