Minor in Digital Media


The Minor in Digital Media is open to students in the Bachelor of Architecture program, supplementing their skills in computer-aided design programs, with exposure to programming, animation, digital modeling and digital media in design.


The objective of the Minor in Digital Media program is to prepare students to lead in the development and application of information technology tools for a wide variety of uses in design.


Students will acquire the ability to:

  1. Use the computer to produce elaborate print and screen presentations for the design profession;
  2. Use computers to generate a complete set of working drawings for construction;
  3. Develop 3D computer-generated models and animation for the design profession; and
  4. Use specific software as a means to architectural design problem-solving.

Minor Requirements

A total of 21 credits are required to complete the minor, based on:

Mandatory Courses 11 credits
Electives Courses 9 credits
Total: 21 credits

Mandatory Courses (11 credits):

  • ARC351 / Computer Graphics I (2 cr.)
  • ARC352 / Computer Graphics II (2 cr.)
  • ARC551 / Computer Graphics Studio (4 cr.)
  • GRA301 / Intermediate Computer Graphics (3 cr.)

Elective Courses (6 credits)

Choose any two courses from the following:

  • ARC451 / Digital Modeling (3 cr.)
  • ARC452 / Computer Animation (3 cr.)
  • ARC454 / Dynamic 3D Modeling (3 cr.)

Choose any course from the following:

  • GRA302 / Advanced Computer Graphics (3 cr.)
