Minor in Conflict Analysis and Resolution
Mission
The Minor in Conflict Analysis & Resolution provides students with a thorough understanding of conflict, its sources and dynamics. It also prepares students to pursue an advanced degree in conflict resolution or help them become active citizens who want to play a role in transforming and resolving different types of conflicts.
Program Educational Objectives
The Minor in Conflict Analysis & Resolution seeks to:
- Provide a clear understanding of the nature and dynamics of conflicts and the dominant theories in this field, and
- Analyze different approaches and tools used to understand and address interpersonal, workplace, community, and international conflicts.
Student Outcomes
Upon completion of the Minor in Conflict Analysis & Resolution, students will:
- Define conflict and its main sources and dynamics in different contexts,
- Demonstrate awareness with regards to the role of leadership, culture, and world views in conflict,
- Apply different conflict analysis techniques to map and analyze conflicts, and
- Evaluate the major conflict resolution techniques and tools used in different contexts.
