PTE541 Carbon Capture, Storage, and Utilization
[3–0, 3 cr.]
Carbon dioxide sources and emission levels. Net-zero emissions targets and energy transition. Introduction to capture and separation of CO2 produced by power generation or industrial activity using chemical processes. Conversion of CO2 by catalytic processes (e.g. methanation, dry reforming, etc.) into synthetic fuels and chemicals. CO2 storage in depleted oil and gas reservoirs, and other geologic formations.Prerequisites: Fourth-year standing.
