PTE472 Modelling and Computer Applications

[2–3, 3 cr.]

Fundamentals of reservoir engineering modeling, focusing on the simulation of reservoir characteristics and behavior, including pore volume, fluid distribution, fluid movement, and recovery processes. Topics include result analysis, reservoir analytical models, numerical approximations, and their practical applications. Industry-standard software is employed to demonstrate how to optimize hydrocarbon recovery while minimizing environmental impacts, including mitigating the risks of overproduction and waste.

Prerequisite: PTE322 Fundamentals of Reservoir Engineering.
