CIE594 Life Cycle Assessment

This course introduces Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), focusing on evaluating the environmental impacts of products and processes from cradle to grave. Students will learn LCA principles, methodologies, and tools through practical applications and case studies. Key topics include goal and scope, system boundaries, flow charts, functional units, allocation, inventory analysis, classification, characterization and weighting. The course equips students with skills to analyze and communicate LCA results for sustainable decision-making.
Co-requisite: CIE595 Life Cycle Assessment - SOFT.
Prerequisites: Fourth-year standing or instructor approval.
