CIE480 Civil Engineering Management Fundamentals

[3–0, 3 cr.]

Organizational behavior and management theory, leadership principles,  understanding of business fundamentals  including forms of business ownership  and public policy making. Introduction to different types of construction projects and construction contracting processes, identification of the different constituents involved in public private construction, phases of a construction project from design to execution, bonds and insurance requirements,  types of delays and change order, dispute resolution processes, and professional ethics. The course also fosters awareness about sustainable management practices and green buildings.

Pre-requisite: INE320 Engineering Economy.

Co-requisites: GNE303 Engineering Ethics and Senior standing.
