Overview

Established during Fall 2012-2013, the department of English Language Instruction (later, the Department of English) offers intensive, remedial, and freshman English courses as well as courses in literature. The department aims at promoting students’ English language proficiency and communication skills, for academic as well as professional and specific purposes. In line with the mission of the university and that of the school of Arts and Sciences, the department promotes student integrity, critical thinking, research skills, and civic engagement.
