MCE411 Mechatronics System Design

[3–0, 3 cr.]

This course teaches the methodologies of integrating sensing, perception, and actuation systems. It introduces the design of embedded systems including both their hardware and software. The PIC microcontrollers will be used as an example processor for assignments and the course project. The course will emphasize the role of artificial intelligence in the mechatronic industry, the selection of sensors and actuators for various industrial tasks, and the control of different types of motors, pneumatic and hydraulic actuators. The course will discuss the future trends in Mechatronic technologies.

Prerequisite: COE323 Microprocessors.
